Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Nees
Andrographis paniculata, also called Chuan Xin Lian, has been studied mainly for short-term symptoms of uncomplicated respiratory infections. A systematic review found possible relief for cough and sore throat, but the studies used different products and were generally poor in quality. That evidence does not show that Andrographis treats Lyme disease or Borrelia infection. The first label check is the allergy warning because Andrographis can cause severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.
Curcuma longa extract
Curcumin is the primary bioactive polyphenol extracted from turmeric root. It modulates multiple inflammatory pathways simultaneously - including NF-κB, COX-2, and key cytokines - but its clinical impact depends entirely on the formulation. Standard curcumin without a bioavailability enhancer is poorly absorbed; piperine, phospholipid complexes, and nanoparticle delivery systems can increase absorption by up to 2,000%.

Look for the full botanical name, Andrographis paniculata. Check the plant part, extract ratio, and andrographolide amount per serving. Read the allergy warning before the first dose. Prefer a product with independent identity and contaminant testing. |
Formulation is everything with curcumin - this is not a supplement where higher milligrams on the label equals better outcomes. A product with 1,500 mg of unformulated 95% curcuminoid extract and no bioavailability enhancer will produce lower serum concentrations than 500 mg of a… |
